Heidi Ortman Sheff studied art, architecture and psychology at Cornell University. She also studied jewelry design and art history in Florence, Italy. After graduating college, Heidi attended the GIA institute, where she became certified in gemology.
While attending GIA, Heidi also worked for the family firm under her grandfather’s guidance, Jack Ortman. After his passing in 1990, she took over the wholesale diamond and estate jewelry company, which she continues to run today with her husband, Roger Sheff under the name of Ortman & Sheff.
Today, Ortman & Sheff specializes in one of a kind pieces — carrying the highest quality of white diamonds, colored diamonds, rare precious stones and estate jewelry. Heidi is the in-house designer for all custom-made jewelry, whether it be for inventory, retail stores or private clients.
‘Heidi Designz’ was born as a result of Heidi’s desire to create a more moderately priced, fashion-forward jewelry line that was unique in its style and could be worn every day.
Some of the jewelry pieces displayed on this website are samples. Almost every piece displayed can be customized to fit your own style and budget.
